Do Braces Hurt My Child?
Braces should never cause extreme and severe pain to your child, however soreness after getting their braces on for the first time and after each wire adjustment session. If you child is in constant discomfort, please contact our office immediately, so we can take a look at your child and try to relieve their problem.
What If My Child Plays Sports, Musical Instruments, etc.
This is also a common concern for parents, whether braces will inhibit their child’s ability to play brass or wind instruments or affect their ability to participate in sports. Luckily, many advancements have been made in regards to ‘lip protectors’ and orthodontic mouth guards, to make sure that your child can continue to do the things they love to do.
Visiting the Dentist During Treatment
It is very important to continue visits your general dentist once every 4-6 months during your orthodontic treatment, for dental cleanings and routine checkups. If additional dental care is needed, we will gladly work with your dentist to assure that you are getting the best care possible.
